Henry is officially an MBA now. I can’t believe how quickly two years has gone by, it’s actually kind of scary. He graduated at Yankee Stadium today as the first and last class to ever graduate from Yankee Stadium.

It was crazy at Yankee Stadium and a sea of purple capes and black hats. As usual, there was lots and lots of speeches. But first, the national anthem, there were three people singing and they really butchered it. It was a rendition that I haven’t heard before and they couldn’t pull this one off, at all. During “and the rockets red glare…”, it had everybody cringing, there was no harmonizing and at least one of them was very off. They should have stuck with the version we all know and can recognize.

There was a montage from future, past and honorary NYU alumni. The funniest line was, “I’m going to miss the college football.” If you don’t know, NYU doesn’t have a football team.

Recipients of honorary degrees were Michael Strahan of the NY Giants and Michael J. Fox of Family Ties and Spin City (and many other TV shows and movies). There were other recipients, but those were the big two. Michael Strahan’s speech was pretty good and got everybody pumped. I felt bad for the guy who went after him. Michael J. Fox didn’t make any kind of speech, it would have been nice if he did.

And, of course, one graduate decided to run on the field. He got tackled by a bunch of security people pretty quickly. After that incident, they had NYPD surrounding the perimeter around first and third base. Other then that incident, everything seemed to have gone pretty smoothly.

What’s next? NYU Stern graduation tomorrow at Radio City Music Hall. Should be another fun day.
