Nora and Alan had a housewarming with our cousins a few weeks ago. We had a whole assortment of food, from artichoke dip to penne alla vodka to pizza and wings to empañadas. Henry and I were a little late, because of course, there were problems with the 7 train. We get on a train, sit there for awhile waiting for the train to leave Times Square and then finally the conductor comes on and says the 7 trains aren’t running, at all. But they say this all the time, so Henry and I went to take the E train to 74th Street-Roosevelt Ave to catch the 7 train, it was running by the time we got there.
Anyway back to the housewarming, we (Monica, Nora, Alan, Jassica, Peter, Cora, Henry and I) stuffed ourselves with all the food, Jennifer and Cheryl came a bit later. After all the food, we played some Cranium (I convinced Nora to buy it for the housewarming). We split up teams randomly, so Cora and Henry were paired together, Nora and Peter were paired together, Alan and Cheryl were paired together and Monica and I were paired together. There are some silly pics of me and Henry doing the “Star Performers”. There is me trying to be the Energizer Bunny and also doing a model airplane. You can see Henry trying to get Cora to guess tofu, that was a very tough one, how do you act out tofu?? I am happy to say that Monica and I won. =)
Throughout our time there, we were constantly eating. There are also pics of Henry and Cheryl’s empanada eating contest. Cheryl, who nearly choked, beat Henry. The empañdas were very yummy, Peter and Cora brought them. If you’re in Flushing and have a hankering for empañdas, try Palacio De Las Empañada (42-19 College Point Blvd), it’s probably around the Home Depot and Western Beef on College Point Blvd.
And finally we watched Nora and Alan’s wedding video. It was very well done and really shows what a happy occasion it was.
