On Christmas day, we were supposed to dim sum with our grandmother and the Los. We all wanted to celebrate Grandma’s 80th birthday, but she can be a bit finicky and decided she didn’t want to go after all, on Christmas day. So we all met up for dim sum to celebrate Christmas and her birthday, without her. We weren’t being mean or anything, but she actually does this a lot.
Anyway, we went to Linden Place in Flushing for dim sum. We were originally going to East on Kissena Blvd, but there was a last minute change of plans. This was my second time going to Linden Place, I remember being very disappointed the first time. The dim sum was lukewarm at best and there was very little variety. The food was hot this time and a wider variety. We went at 11am, so we were lucky, we didn’t have to wait for a table. It was pretty packed when we left.
Dinner was at my other grandmother’s place. We did a hot pot with the Leungs and the other Chans. We had so much food including veggies (a wide variety of Chinese vegetables), tofu, shrimp, oysters, clams, broad noodles, tilapia and others that I can’t remember. We were all so stuffed!
