Online Holiday Shopping

Online Shopping Presents

I’m a little annoyed, on Sunday I ordered 12 items. To date I’ve received all but four of them. I received an e-mail on Wednesday telling me I will not receive the other four items until after Christmas. One just happens to be a Secret Santa gift that I need for this weekend, which I will have to buy in stores now. But what annoys me is that for that item, on their website, it still says it is in stock and buy it today to get it on December 19th and that is with the Super Saver Shipping. So why is my order getting delayed till after Christmas?? It makes no sense to me. And this is not the first time that Amazon has screwed me over Christmas presents. I think next year I have to try another site for my Christmas shopping.

Lack of Paper = No Work?

I recently moved buildings at work and now have an office on the 37th floor with a really nice view of the west side and across to New Jersey. My office is pretty bare because I’m not really into decorating. My mom came to visit me at work and to see the new office. She loved the view from my windows and wished she brought a camera. She also brought me a nice little plant for my office. Isn’t she sweet. But while sitting in my office, she noticed I have a lot of empty bare desk and a lack of paper, so what does she ask me? “You don’t have a lot of work right? You’re not busy?” It was amusing to know that my non-technical mother associates a lot of paper with being very busy. I’ve always worked for online so in general I don’t have a lot of paper and never made that association. I guess I should leave lots of paper laying around my desk so that there will always be an illusion of business.
