First off, I did survive my birthday with my friends. It started off with a nice dinner at Tigerland (85 Avenue A, between 5th and 6th Street, 212-477-9887). The service was very prompt there and they were able to accomodate us when we went from a reservation of nine, to ten, to eleven. Our waiter took our order without writing anything down, he actually got everything right. The food was good and I also had the red and white sangrias, I liked the white more, but it’s not like I hated the red.

Our starters consisted of (keep in mind there were 11 of us so I’m not sure what everybody ordered):

  • Rice Paper Rolls with crispy shrimp & vietnamese sausage
  • Banh Cuon - steamed vietnamese raviolis with shrimp, pork, bamboo shoot, fried shallots, sjitake & woodear mushroom
  • Stuffed Angel Wings with caramel chili sauce

Our entrees included:

  • Clay Pot Spicy Glass Noodles with Wild Scallops & Wild Shrimp with fresh Berkshire bacon
    Green Mango Pan Fried Trout
  • Shaking Beef - Wok Seared Sirloin Beef Cubes with black pepper, garlic & watercress
  • Steamed Stripe Bass with Gingers and Scaillions

We had the coconut tapioca chilled soup and two kinds of cupcakes for dessert. I think one of the cupcakes was coffee flavored and the other one was Thai tea(?), the Thai tea was better.

After filling our belly’s, we walked next door to Sing Sing for some karaoke for a night filled with singing and more alcohol. And of course there was the last stop to get a slice of pizza before heading home.

Thanks to everybody for coming out and celebrating my birthday!
