Grey’s Anatomy - Break on Through

I started watching Grey’s Anatomy in the end of October and loved it. I hear it has gotten better since last season which is good because I probably would have gave up on it. I started watching Desperate Housewives in October too, but I’ve given it up. I find I cannot stand Teri Hatcher, she drives me crazy.

Anyway, back to Grey’s Anatomy, it was another good episode. The nurses went on strike, and George cannot cross the picket line because his parents were both part of a union but he only breaks it when the nurses ask him to check in on their patients. T.R. Knight was so great. He was so funny saying no to Dr. Webber and Dr. Burke. I miss Dr. Bailey. =( Her replacement is annoying, the perkiness gets to me, but that’s what they’re going for, the total opposite of Bailey. It’s so weird that the new resident calls Alex is the compassionate one, not that you could ever call Cristina that.

Poor Meredith, she saves an elderly woman, only to find out she was not supposed to be saved. Only after she intubated the patient did she found out that she was a DNR patient. It was sad that Meredith had to eventually kill the patient she was trying to save. I shed a couple of tears for her and the elderly woman’s family and friends. I was so happy that when Derek was comforting Meredith, she got up before he could kiss her.

Then the whole Izzie story had me shedding a couple more tears. Wow! So Izzie had a daughter when she was 16 and she gave Sarah/Hanna up for adoption. But seriously, what are the chances that her patient is from the same town as her and in the same situation as her when she was 16.

I loved the end of the episode with Izzie, George and Meredith in the bed, with George asking if they were going to have sex.

On a side note, Ellen Pompeo keeps looking thinner and thinner. She looked a lot better in the ads I saw for last season. Patrick Dempsey looks better and better with age. I noticed him when he guest-starred on Will & Grace as Will’s boyfriend for a few episodes. I’m glad he’s no longer relying on guest-stunts and has a regular job these days and get nominated for awards too!

Scrubs - My Big Bird

This was another good episode of Scrubs, but since the previous was sooo good, this episode was kind of weak. But I loved seeing Jason Bateman, even if he was all scruffy and dirty, as a garbage man patient of JD’s. Who, of course, refused to thank JD for doing his job. I much prefer Jason in his suits on Arrested Development (he definitely cleans up well!), but since it hasn’t been on, I’m happy to see he’s still working. How cute was his ostrich, wearing Turk’s red Kangol hat?

So basically this episode revolved around a dead patient and who killed him, JD, Turk, Elliot or Carla? It was an interesting episode and of course it turns out that none of them directly killed the patient, but any of them could have with their carelessness, and Dr. Cox always gets the last word.

Scrubs - My Way Home

We really liked this episode. We actually left it on our DVR so we can watch it again and see what we missed the first time around. This episode was the 100th episode of Scrubs and was directed by Zach Braff, the star of the show.

This episode was filled with references to The Wizard of Oz. Some of the ones that I caught were:

  • Toto on JD’s iPod
  • JD’s sneakers get painted red
  • all JD is trying to do is go home
  • there is a yellow brick road that they follow
  • Dr. Cox is the man behind the curtain that we’re supposed to ignore
  • Jordan, known as the wicked witch, melting in her overheated office
  • “lions, tigers and bears, oh my”

Other things in the episode, the kid who plays Jack (Dr. Cox and Jordan’s son) is so adorable. He even looked cute when he was spray painted green. I loved Elliot hiding her cheat sheets all over the hospital and calling Dr. Cox an assface. JD eating the mango body butter, how disgusting! Jordan’s lips swelling up was also another disgusting one. I absolutely loved Ted and his band singing throuhgout the episode especially Iz’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” at the end. That song always makes my eyes well up, and of course it did at the end of this episode too.

24 Day 5 - 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon

Did anyone else notice that the previous week’s preview included clips that did not air on Monday? The scene with Jack and Mike Novick outdoors and Jack is yelling at him about who he told and Mike yells back he told nobody. That wasn’t in the episode. And I could have sworn that they replayed that clip all last week for this episode too. It was very odd. I noticed it when we had four minutes left to the episode. Henry wouldn’t believe me, but we still have all the episodes on our DVR so after this week’s episode was over, I made him fast forward through last week’s to the end to watch the preview and of course I was right and he was right. I love proving him wrong. icon_biggrin

So I knew they were trying to trick us with Spencer. He was a mole, but he actually thought he was doing good and not evil. I guess the writers decided to change it up a bit, because seriously, how secure are they if they have yet another mole?

On the whole, the episode was oddly very fulfilling. CTU found out they had a mole and caught the supposedly mole and we almost got to see Jack doing what he does best, Henry was really hoping for some hard core interrogating. CTU also learned that Walt had his own agenda and for reasons unknown, wanted Jack dead. I kind of miss the cliffhanger endings that make you wish for Monday to get a new episode. Seriously, who wishes for a Monday, that’s a start of another work week. How sweet (in a not very manly way) was it that Tony asked for Jack and Jack excusing himself from Lynn to go see Tony, his friend. And what are the chances that there will be a monitor that is off that clearly reflects the assassain getting ready to kill Jack?

Elaine & Vinny’s Engagement Party

This was the first engagement party we’ve been to. Food, drinks and dancing, what more could you ask for. Their wedding plans are full steam ahead and it looks like I’ll be attending two weddings in 2006. Nora and Alan booked their place for September 17th and she’s even found a goregeous dress Maggie Sottero - Chanel, but too bad it is unaffordable. Good luck to both couples!
