Henry and I spent our honeymoon in St. Maarten (Dutch Side) and Sint Martin (French side). We stayed at the Wyndham Sapphire Beach Club & Resort on the Dutch side. The accommodations were pretty nice, but of course looked better online than in their brochures. We shopped in both capitals, Phillipsburg (Dutch) and Marigot (French), laid out at a beach on both sides and rented a wave runner (also saw some topless and nude people), visited a casino, and a lot of eating.
On our last day there we rented a car, for free (they hand out vouchers at the airport for a free one day car rental), and went for dinner in Grand Case. We really wanted to go to L’Alabama but we couldn’t find it so we went to L’Auberge Gourmande instead. The food there was really good, especially the escargot. We later did find L’Alabama, we couldn’t find it because it was closed and the lights were out.
I don’t know if we’ll visit again, but the beaches there are beautiful!
